Rocketman, a film biography about Elton John, is being developed by the singer and his partner, David Furnish, according to published reports. No director is attached to the project.
The film will have a script by Tony Award winner Lee Hall, who wrote the book for Billy Elliot — which features a score by John — as well as The Pitmen Painters.
John has been one of the top-selling recording artists in the world for over four decades. He won a Tony for his score to Aida and has also composed the scores for the Broadway musicals The Lion King and Lestat.
