VIDEO FLASH: Shakespeare’s Globe’s The Merry Wives of Windsor

Shakespeare’s Globe has released a trailer for its production of The Merry Wives of Windsor, which is currently running at Shakespeare’s Globe in London through October 2, and which will also play an engagement at the Eli and Edyth Broad Stage in Santa Monica, October 14-24, and then be seen October 28 -November 7 at New York’s Michael Schimmel Center for the Performing Arts as part of a U.S. tour.

Christopher Luscombe has directed the production, which has designs by Janet Bird and original music by Nigel Hess.

The company features Christopher Benjamin as Falstaff, alongside Sue Wallace as Mistress Quickly, Serena Evans as Mistress Page, Sarah Woodward as Mistress Ford, Andrew Havill as Frank Ford, Gerard McCarthy as Fenton, Barnaby Edwards as Rugby, and Ceri-Lyn Chissone as Anne Page. The cast also includes Nathan Amzi as Simple, Gareth Armstrong as Evans, William Belchambers as Slender, Philip Bird as Dr. Caius, Peter Gale as Shallow, Michael Garner as Page, Gregory Gudgeon as Pym, and Jonty Stevens as Host.
