Oscar winners and stage veterans Rachel Weisz and Anthony Hopkins will star in the new movie 360, according to published reports. Fernando Meirelles will direct the film, which has a screenplay by Peter Morgan.

The piece is inspired by the 1900 play Reigen which inspired Schnitzler’s La Ronde and follows pairs of characters and their sexual encounters.

Weisz recently won an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Blanche DuBois in the West End production of A Streetcar Named Desire and appeared Off-Broadway in The Shape of Things. She won the Oscar for The Constant Gardner, which was directed by Meirelles.

Hopkins won an Academy Award for The Silence of the Lambs and received Oscar nominations for The Remains of the Day, Nixon, and Amistad. His stage credits include Equus on Broadway and Pravda and King Lear in the U.K.

Morgan is best known for writing the play and screenplay to Frost/Nixon, as well as the screenplay for The Queen and the teleplay for HBO’s The Special Relationship. He is also working on a biopic of the rock group Queen.
