Paley Center for Media Creates New TV Awards Show for 2012

The Paley Center for Media will televise an awards show for television in May 2012, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The ceremony will take place in New York City during the so-called “upfronts,” when the networks preview the upcoming TV season for advertisers and journalists.

According to the Reporter, Frank A. Bennack, Jr., chairman of the Paley Center, explained the decision to air the awards show as such: “The Paley Center has considerable curatorial expertise and occupies a unique position at the intersection between the industry and the viewing public. Our goal is to put our own distinctive stamp on honoring the great work being done by so many in the media community.”
