John Malkovich to Star in Vienna’s The Giacomo Variations

John Malkovich will star as the 18th-century womanizer Casanova in The Giacomo Variations, which will play Vienna’s Ronacher Theater, beginning on January 5, according to The New York Times.

The work, which is described as a mix between a play and an opera, will feature music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The production will also star Austrian baritone Florian Boesch.

Malkovich’s stage credits include Burn This, True West, Death of a Salesman,The Caretaker, and The Infernal Comedy.

A two-time Oscar nominee, his upcoming films include Secretariat, Red, and Transformers 3: Revenge of the Fallen.
