Glee‘s Lea Michele to Be Featured on The Sound of Music: 45th Anniversary Edition CD

The Sound of Music – 45th Anniversary Edition album to be released by Legacy Recordings will include a bonus track featuring Glee‘s Lea Michele singing “My Favorite Things.”

This new edition of the soundtrack recording for the Oscar-winning 1965 film version of the hit Broadway musical — starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer — will be available for purchase and download on November 2.

The Rodgers and Hammerstein score includes such songs as “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Edelweiss,” “So Long, Farewell,” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” as well as the title song and “My Favorite Things.”

The new release of the soundtrack will include a full-color CD booklet will include rare photography and an extensive and newly-updated 1,500-word liner notes essay by Bert Fink.

In addition, there will be special screenings nationwide of The Singalong Sound of Music on October 19 and 26.

As previously reported by TheaterMania, Andrews, Plummer and members from the Sound of Music film will reunite on The Oprah Winfrey Show next month.
