The Irish Arts Center has announced its programming for fall and early winter 2010.

Among the highlights is the U.S. premiere of Gary Duggan’s Trans-Euro Express, to run September 16 – October 3. Chris Henry will direct the play, which is about a group of artists who embark on a fast-paced Euro rail mission to shoot their debut music video. In addition to this production, the theater will offer a staged reading of Ronan Noone’s Brendan on October 3, a coming-of-age story about a young man who’s recently moved from Ireland to the U.S. David Sullivan will direct the performance, which will feature Kathleen Chalfant and Dashiell Eaves.

Other programming at the center will include a monthly comedy series, produced by Ann Design and Fiona Walsh, a pair of concerts that will pair Grammy Award-winner Bill Whelan with Irish fiddler Athena Tergis (November 21-22), and An Irish Christmas (December 9 – 19), a mixture of music and spoken word.

The Irish Arts Center’s programming will also feature Darrah Carr Dance’s annual New York season (November 12-14) and a special event (October 7), moderated by Columbia University’s Karen Green, in which cartoonist Robert Berry and editor Mike Barsanti will discuss Berry’s graphic novel Ulysses Seen.
