Lucie Arnaz, Jonathan Demme, Bill Irwin, Nathan Lane Set for The New 42nd Street’s Gala

Tony Award winner Bill Irwin will be honored at The New 42nd Street’s annual gala, to be held on Monday, November 8 at The New Victory Theater. The event, which will include a cocktail reception, performance, and dinner, will raise money for and celebrate the New Victory’s education programs.

Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, Oscar winner Jonathan Demme, and new vaudeville troupe The Handsome Little Devils and Full Circle Productions (under the direction of Gabriel “Kwikstep” Dionisio and Ana “Rokafella” Garcia) will offer tribute to Irwin.

After accepting his award, Irwin will take the stage with a group of 4th graders from PS/IS 111 to present a special musical vaudeville finale, the product of student workshops led by Irwin with children from The New Victory Education Residency program.

At the dinner, Lucie Arnaz will offer selections from her new CD, Latin Roots.

Irwin won the Tony for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Among his other Broadway credits are Bye Bye Birdie, Waiting for Godot, The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? Fool Moon, and Largely New York, In addition, he was a founding member of Kraken Theatre Ensemble and San Francisco’s Pickle Family Circus.
