Marc Kudisch, Jessie Mueler, David Turner, et al. Set for Vineyard Theatre’s On a Clear Day You Can See Forever Developmental Lab

Casting has been announced the Vineyard Theatre‘s development lab production of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, to run July 25-30. The show is open only to Vineyard Theater members.

Michael Mayer, who has reconceived the musical, will direct the show. There will be a full production on Broadway later this year at the St. James Theatre, starring Harry Connick, Jr. No other additional casting has been announced.

With music by Burton Lane, lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, and a new book by Peter Parnell, based on the original by Lerner, the show centers on Dr. Mark Bruckner, a dashing psychiatrist and professor still in love with his deceased wife. He unknowingly takes on the case of his life with David Gamble, a quirky young florists’ assistant. While putting David under hypnosis to help him quit smoking so he can move in with his perfect boyfriend Warren, Dr. Bruckner stumbles upon what he believes to be David’s former self — a dazzling and self-possessed 1940’s jazz singer Melinda Wells.

For the lab performances, Marc Kudisch will play of Dr. Bruckner.as Connnick is unable to participate in the lab due to prior scheduling conflicts. The company will also feature Heather Ayers, Steven Booth, Benjamin Eakeley, Drew Gehling, Kendal Hartse, Paul O’Brien, Kerry O’Malley, Jessie Mueller, Zachary Prince, Sarah Stiles, David Turner, Alysha Umphress, and Lori Wilner.
