Chris Noth to Narrate Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait for SF Symphony

Chris Noth will narrate Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait as part of the San Francisco Symphony’s Summer & the Symphony Grand Finale concert to be offered on July 24 at 8pm at Davies Symphony Hall. Alondra de la Parra will conduct the event.

The program for the concert will also feature performances of John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine, as well as George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in its original jazz band version and “Strike Up the Band.” Pianist Sara Davis Buechner is also scheduled to perform as are members of the UC Berkeley Marching Band, who will perform Meredith Willson’s “Seventy-Six Trombones.”

Noth has appeared on Broadway in Gore Vidal’s The Best Man and his Off-Broadway credits include Farragut North and What Didn’t Happen. He is perhaps best known for his work on the television series, Sex and the City, Law & Order, and currently The Good Wife.
