Bing Crosby Featured on Bing on Broadway CD to Be Released in May

A new compilation CD, Bing Crosby: Bing On Broadway, will be released by Collectors Choice Records and The Bing Crosby Archive on May 18. The release of this album will coincide the another five releases of discs featuring Crosby.

Bing on Broadway is compiled of rare material and features the singer performing numbers from such Broadway musicals as South Pacific, The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, Can-Can, Anything Goes, and My Fair Lady, among others. The disc features such classics as “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Fine and Dandy,” “But Not for Me,” “A Cockeyed Optimist,” “Hey There,” “Heart,” and “Get Me to the Church on Time.”

The other albums that will be released include reissues of Bing Crosby: Seasons, Bing Crosby: Return To Paradise Islands, and Bing Crosby: El Senor Bing, all in deluxe format. Another deluxe format disc will be Bing Crosby: On The Sentimental Side, a recording which has never been released and which will be accompanied by special bonus material.

The final release will be a 2-CD set of Crosby rarities: Bing Crosby: So Rare: Treasures From The Crosby Archive. Compiled by Crosby archivist Robert S. Bader, this career-spanning collection includes tracks from Crosby’s personal archive and includes his first solo radio performance from 1931, some rare private recordings and unknown outtakes as well as the first album appearances of several rare single tracks.
