Bill Irwin, Bill T. Jones, Kathleen Turner Set for YoungArts New York Weekend

YoungArts is to present an evening of short works showcasing national YoungArts award winners from the greater New York City area, March 8 at 7pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater at the Baryshnikov Arts Center.

This event, which will kick off the organization’s YoungArts New York weekend, will feature performances by national winners including Indian classical dance by Hanish Polavarapu, hip hop by Jose “BoyBoi” Tena, piano by Alex Beyer (Fairfield, CT / Fairfield High School), theater by Nadia Cook-Loshilov, jazz vocals by Nia Drummond, ballet by Ainsley Sorenson, and pop vocals by Catherine Ochoa.

The weekend will also include workshops with world-renowned artists from a variety of disciplines including actors Bill Irwin and Kathleen Turner, playwright Adam Rapp, choreographer Bill T. Jones, and dance legend Mikhail Baryshnikov, among others.

YoungArts is a national organization that recognizes and supports America’s most talented 15-18 year old artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts.
