Lisa Banes, Boyd Gaines, Dana Ivey Set for Reading of Ten Chimneys

Lisa Banes, Boyd Gaines, and Dana Ivey will star in a staged reading of Jeffrey Hatcher’s Ten Chimneys, to be presented by The Acting Company at the Mainstage Theater of Playwrights Horizons, on Monday, March 14 at 7pm. David Ira Goldstein will direct.

The play offers a revealing look at Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, two of the most revered Broadway stars. The couple decides to perform Chekhov’s The Sea Gull but first retreat to ‘investigate’ the play at Ten Chimneys, their beloved Wisconsin estate where they are surrounded by actors, family and hangers-on. When a young Uta Hagen arrives, events begin to mirror Chekhov’s masterpiece of passion and art.
