Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer Design Lighting for Movie Musical Burlesque

Eight-time Tony Award-winning lighting designers Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer have created the theatrical lighting designs for all of the musical numbers in the feature film Burlesque, which as previously reported will star Cher, Christina Aguilera, Kristen Bell, and Stanley Tucci.

Burlesque is a dramatic musical, which focuses on a young hopeful singer (played by Aguilera) who is befriended by the more seasoned nightclub proprietor and headliner (Cher) who owns the glamorous and once illustrious Burlesque Lounge where all of the films’ musical numbers take place. The film also features Eric Dane, Cam Gigandet, Julianne Hough, Peter Gallagher, and Alan Cumming.

Eisenhauer and Fisher have previously created lighting designs for such films as Chicago and Dreamgirls. Their stage credits include the musicals Cabaret, Ragtime, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin, Hair, La Cage Aux Folles, Gypsy (2003 revival), Jelly’s Last Jam, Victor/Victoria, Grand Hotel, and Assassins as well as the nonmusicals Angels In America, Lenny, American Buffalo, and Elaine Stritch At Liberty, among others.
