Idina Menzel and Josh Groban will star in the Royal Albert Hall concert presentation of the musical Chess, May 12-13 in London. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Chess involves a romantic triangle between two players in a World Chess Championship, and the woman who manages one and falls in love with the other.
Tim Rice, who wrote the show's lyrics, will introduce the concert.
Ellis, who will play Svetlana, starred in the London production of Wicked. Pascal, who will play Frederick Trumper, starred on Broadway in Rent and Aida. Menzel, who will play Florence, won the 2004 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Elphaba in Wicked. Her other stage credits include Rent and The Wild Party. Groban, who will play Anatoly, is a top-selling recording artist, whose CDs include Closer and Awake.
