Grammy Award winners Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z welcomed their first child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter, on Saturday in New York City.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was one of the producers of the hit Broadway musical Fela!.
Knowles played Deena Jones in the film version of Dreamgirls.
