Laurie Metcalf will make another guest appearance this season on CBS' The Big Bang Theory, as the mother of Sheldon (played by 2010 Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons), according to published reports.

Metcalf is currently appearing in the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Detroit and will appear next year in MCC Theatre's production of The Other Place. She received a Tony nomination for her performance in November, and her many other stage credits include Brighton Beach Memoirs, A Lie of the Mind, Voice Lessons and Balm in Gilead. Metcalf is best known for her Emmy Award-winning role as Jackie on the sitcom Roseanne.

The series also stars Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, and Simon Helberg. Other upcoming guest stars include George Takei, Katee Sackhoff, Wil Wheaton, and Mayim Bialik
