Ken Rus Schmoll, Kashu-Juku Noh Theater, Yoshi Oida to Be Part of Performance Season at Japan Society

The theater pieces that will be featured in the coming year are Yoshi Oida's solo show Interrogations: Words of the Zen Masters, (October 8-9), about the tests administered by a Zen master to his pupil, and an engagement featuring the Kashu-Juku Noh Theater's productions of Boshibari (Tied to a Pole), Aoi no Ue (Lady Aoi). and a solo dance that depicts the climax of Yashima, presented with costume or mask (March 24-26).
The performance series will also feature a staged reading of Shoji Kokami's Trance, translated by Amy Kassai and directed Ken Rus Schmoll, in which three friends unite under bizarre circumstances 15 years after they were in school together. (November 15).
