Broadway Performer Cris Alexander Has Died

Broadway performer and photographer Cris Alexander has died of natural causes, according to a report in Variety. He was 92.

Alexander played Chip in the original Broadway production of On the Town. His other Broadway credits include Present Laughter, and Wonderful Town, as well as Auntie Mame, in which he played several roles. He reprised his performance as one character, Mr. Loomis, in the film version of the play. In addition, he appeared in a television production of Wonderful Town.

Alexander was also a portrait photographer known for his work with celebrities. He later became the official photographer for the New York City Ballet and in 1970, he served as projection designer for Two by Two on Broadway.
