Idina Menzel has confirmed that a Frozen sequel is in the works.

More than a year after its initial theatrical release, Disney's Frozen is still the hottest movie around. Speculation on both a stage musical version and a sequel has been swirling like a snowstorm for months, and now comes the news that star Idina Menzel has further confirmed the studio's plans for expanding the franchise.

"They’re all in the works," Menzel, who played Elsa in the animated feature and sang the Oscar-winning anthem "Let It Go," is quoted by London's Telegraph as replying when asked what she can say about progress. As for whether or not she'll be involved, she said, "Not the stage show — I don’t know what will happen with that — but the movie hopefully. We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride."

Frozen won 2014 Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song and has grossed over $1.2 billion in worldwide box office revenue. The Broadway stars that appear in the film also include Kristen Bell (Hair) as Elsa's younger sister, Anna, Tony nominee Santino Fontana (Cinderella) as Hans, Tony nominee Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening) as Kristoff, and Tony nominee Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon) as the lovable snowman Olaf.

As TheaterMania reported in January, Walt Disney CEO and chairman Bob Iger revealed that a Frozen stage musical is in development.
