Golden Boy star Tony Shalhoub and Annie producer Roger Horchow were honored Sunday, December 9 at New York Stage and Film's Annual Winter Gala, held at the Plaza Hotel.
The evening featured performances by Annie star Lilla Crawford, Tony Award-winner David Hyde Pierce (Curtains, which Horchow produced), and Billy Porter (of Broadway's upcoming Kinky Boots).
Guests at the event included New York Stage and Film producing directors Mark Linn-Baker and Leslie Urdang, Powerhouse Theater Program producing director Ed Cheetham, Tony Award winners Judith Ivey (The Heiress), Thomas Kail (In the Heights), Charles Strouse (Annie), Steven Sater (Spring Awakening), John Patrick Shanley (Doubt), Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), Susan Stroman (The Producers), Brooke Adams (Lend Me a Tenor), Talia Balsam (Jake's Women), Chris Bauer (What Rhymes With America), Tony Danza (The Producers), Polly Draper (Brooklyn Boy), Santino Fontana (Cinderella), Christa Justus, Steve Guttenberg (Relatively Speaking), Linda Hart (Catch Me If You Can), Carol Kane (Sly Fox), Jodie Markell, Eva Price (Annie), John Slattery (Rabbit Hole), Jon Tenney (The Heiress), Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Alysha Umphress (On A Clear Day…), and Jennifer Westfeldt (The Power of Duff).
Shalhoub received three Emmy Awards and Golden Globe for his performance as neurotic detective Adrian Monk on the long-running television series Monk. His stage credits The Scene, Lend Me a Tenor, The Heidi Chronicles, and Conversations with My Father, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. His film and television appearances include Wings, Men in Black, Galaxy Quest, and many others.
Horchow won Tony Awards for producing the Broadway productions of Crazy for You and Kiss Me, Kate. His additional credits include Curtains, Gypsy, and the currently-running Annie.
New York Stage and Film is a not-for-profit company dedicated to developing new works for theater and film, known for its annual summer season at Vassar College's Powerhouse Theatre. The company has developed and premiered the Tony Award-winning Doubt, Sideman, and Broadway hits American Idiot and A Steady Rain, among many other works that have been seen in New York City and across the country.
