The musical is about Fela Anikulapo-Kuti's controversial life as artist, political activist, and revolutionary musician. The show is directed and choreographed by Bill T. Jones, with a book by Jim Lewis and Jones, and plays the Ahmanson through January 22.
Following her appearance in Fela!, Sengbloh will return to New York for rehearsals of the Signature Theatre Company's production of Hurt Village, written by Katori Hall, which opens in February.
