David Serero to Star in French Production of Man of La Mancha
French baritone David Serero will star as Don Quixotte in a production of Man of La Mancha, at the Theatre des Varietes in Paris, March 19 and 26, 2012. James Marvel will direct.
The musical by Dale Wasserman (libretto), Mitch Leigh (music) and Joe Darion (lyrics) was originally adapted into the French language by Jacques Brel. For this new production, Serero, who is also producing, will be presenting a “hybrid version” with musical numbers in English and a French libretto that Serero himself has adapted.
