Cook, Kudisch, Lewis, Rivers, Sheik, et al. to Appear at Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle (Broadway and 66th Street) has announced its January calendar of free public events.

The month will begin with a discussion and signing by Michael Davis, author of Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street, along with some of the contributors to the long-running television show (January 5, 7:30pm), followed by a performance and CD signing by Tony Award winner Barbara Cook (January 6, 7:30pm), and the Urban Folk/Jazz Jam featuring such performers as Richie Goods, Allan Harris, and Bujo Kevin Jones (January 10, 6:30pm).

Up next are Michael Northey and Kyle Cameron, author and co-star of the upcoming New Victory Theater production of Cranked (January 12, 7pm), a performance and CD signing by the stars of the Off-Broadway musical The Marvelous Wonderettes (January 14, 6pm), a performance and CD signing by keyboardist/composer Courtney Bryan (January 19, 6pm), a performance and CD signing by cabaret star Tony DeSare (January 21, 6pm), and a performance and CD signing by the cast and creators of the Off-Broadway musical The Glorious Ones, including Stephen Flaherty, Lynn Ahrens, and Marc Kudisch (February 23, 5pm).

As the month concludes, there will be a discussion by Joseph Polisi of his new book American Muse: The Life of Times of William Schuman (January 26, 7:30pm), a performance and CD signing by Broadway star Norm Lewis (January 28, 6pm), a discussion and signing by Joan Rivers of her new book Men Are Stupid… And They Like Big Boobs (January 29, 7:30pm), and performance and CD signing by Duncan Sheik and Holly Brook of Whisper House (January 30, 6pm).

In addition, B&N Jr. will present workshops by the New Victory Theater in conjunction with their upcoming shows Jason and the Argonauts (January 20, 4pm) and Taoub (January 29, 4pm), as well as a performance by the Opus 118 Harlem School of Music (January 31, 2pm).
