Drama Desk Award winner Nick Westrate will re-join the off-Broadway production of Nina Raine’s Tribes at the Barrow Street Theatre in the role of Daniel, beginning on Monday, November 19. He replaces original cast member Will Brill, who departs on Sunday, November 18.

Directed by David Cromer, Tribes tells the story of a young deaf man (played by Russell Harvard), born into a hearing family, whose outlook on life changes when he meets a young woman (played by Susannah Flood) on the brink of deafness.

The company also currently includes Lee Roy Rogers, Jeff Still, and Dina Thomas. As previously reported, the production’s final performance will be on January 6, 2013.

Westrate was featured in the company earlier this year. He received a special 2012 Drama Desk Award for his breadth of work last season. In addition, he was last year’s recipient of Actors Equity’s St. Clair Bayfield Award for his performance as Berowne in Shakespeare’s Love’s Labor’s Lost at the Public Theatre.
