PHOTO FLASH: Mary Poppins Star Steffanie Leigh Lights Empire State Building

Steffanie Leigh, who stars in the title role of Broadway’s Mary Poppins, helped celebrate the production’s fifth Anniversary on Broadway by flipping the switch to light the Empire State Building’s tower lights blue. The lighting ceremony was held Tuesday, November 15.

Leigh was joined by fellow cast members Barrett Davis, Geoffrey Goldberg, and Jesse Swimm.

Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the 1964 Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins is playing at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The production, directed by Richard Eyre, features a book by Julian Fellowes, with a score by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, with additional songs by George Stiles and Anthony Drew.
