Liza Minnelli has been ordered by her doctor to cancel a series of upcoming performances as she has contracted bronchial pneumonia.

Among the touring engagements affected are ones at the NB Performing Arts Center (October 15), Appleton, WI – Fox Cities PAC (October 22), Madison, WI – Overture Center for the Arts (October 23), Joliet, IL – Rialto Square Theatre (October 29), Indianapolis, IN – Hilbert Circle Theatre (October 20), and Philadelphia, PA – Academy of Music (November 6).

Minnelli’s tour has been showcasing material from her new CD Confessions. She will resume performing on November 20 with a performance at the St. George Theatre in Staten Island. Additional concerts also include one on November 22 in the Dominican Republic and a holiday concert in San Francisco on December 5.

In making the announcement about the canceled tour dates, the performer stated “Performing live is my passion and I’m greatly disappointed that I will not be able to continue my tour. I do not want to let down my fans as my loyalty to them has always been of prime importance in my life. I will be back on stage on November 20.”
