Dixon Place has announced that its world premiere of Forever., created by Laura Peterson Choreography, has been postponed until February 2009. The performance was to have been the inaugural show at Dixon Place’s new facility at 161 Chrystie Street. However, the theater will still open its doors on October 29. A series of official gala events and dedication ceremonies are being planned to take place in the coming months.

Forever. is a dance for four people performed in a large luminous white circle with the audience peering into its patterned multi-colored world while listening to the bumpy vocal loopings of Lumberob. The cast was to include Christopher Hutchings, Kate Martel, Stephanie Miracle, and Laura Peterson, with music by Lumberob and lighting by Mandy Ringger.

Dixon Place has served over 10,000 artists in its 22-year history, and has been a springboard for the careers of numerous writers and performers including John Leguizamo and Blue Man Group. The new space is a fully flexible facililty with lighting, sound, and video equipment; internet connectivity and a direct feed into the recording studio directly above the mainstage theater; a lounge that includes an auxiliary stage; and a subsidized rehearsal studio.
