Part of Wilson's famed 10-play cycle set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, Two Trains Running is set in 1969 at a diner owned by Memphis Lee. The show had a five-month Broadway run in 1992. It received four Tony Award nominations, including Best Play; actor Laurence Fishburne won the Tony, Drama Desk, and Theater World Award for his performance.
The show's creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Matthew J. Lefevbre (costumes), Robert Wierzel (lighting), and Brett R. Jarvis (sound). Bellamy is the founder and artistic director of Minnesota's Penumbra Theatre Company.
