Tony Award-winning choreographer/director Susan Stroman will be honored on October 10 at the 2005 Elan Awards at the Haft Institute at F.I.T. Director Harold Prince will present Stroman with the Elan Award, which has previously been presented to such choreographers as Graciela Daniele, Jerry Mitchell, and Rob Marshall. In addition, cast members from her hit show Contact, including Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines, will perform at the event.

On November 7, Stroman will be honored by Primary Stages at their 21st Season Anniversary Gala, to be held at Tavern on the Green. Charles Grodin will host the event, which will feature appearances by Lynn Ahrens, Norbert Leo Butz, John Kander, Nathan Lane, William Ivey Long, John Weidman, and Karen Ziemba. Tickets to that event start at $300, and may be purchased by calling 212-840-9705.

Stroman is currently represented on Broadway by the hit musical The Producers, and helmed the film version that is due out later this year. She won the Tony for both Best Director and Best Choreography for that production. She also won the Tony for Best Choreography for Contact, Crazy For You, and Show Boat. Her numerous other Broadway credits include The Frogs, Oklahoma!, The Music Man, Steel Pier, and Big.
