Anderman, Cunningham, Lieber, Offner Set for Huntington’s Sisters Rosensweig

Maureen Anderman, T. Scott Cunningham, Mimi Lieber, and Deborah Offner will head the cast of the Huntington Theatre Company’s production of Wendy Wasserstein’s The Sisters Rosensweig.

The production, to be directed by Nicholas Martin, will run November 4-December 4, with an official opening on November 9. Andrea Martin, who was first announced to star in the show, has had to bow out do to a scheduling conflict. Rounding out the cast are Amelia Alvarez, Jeremiah Kissel, James McMenamin, and Richard Snee. The creative team will include David Korins (sets), Robert Morgan (costumes), Rui Rita (lighting), and Drew Levy (sound).

First produced on Broadway in 1993, The Sisters Rosensweig tells the story of three Jewish-American sisters from Brooklyn who gather in London to celebrate the 54th birthday of the eldest sibling, Sara. The show, which starred Jane Alexander, Madeline Kahn, and Robert Klein, was nominated for the Tony Award as Best Play.

Anderman’s many Broadway credits include three plays by Edward Albee: the original production of Seascape, the 1976 revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and The Lady From Dubuque, for which she received a Tony Award nomination. Cunningham has appeared on Broadway in Love! Valour! Compassion! and Design For Living, and was most recently seen Off-Broadway in The Dear Boy. Lieber’s Broadway credits include Brooklyn Boy and I’m Not Rappaport. Offner’s New York credits include Hair, Don Juan, and The Maids.
