Marin Mazzie, Molly Ranson Celebrate the Premiere Cast Recording of Carrie: The Musical

MCC Theater and Ghostlight Records celebrated the release of Carrie: The Musical‘s Premiere Cast Recording on Thursday, September 20 with a late-night listening party at Broadway nightspot 54 Below.

On hand for the evening were stars Marin Mazzie and Molly Ranson, composer Michael Gore, book writer Lawrence D. Cohen, cast members Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, Ben Thompson, F. Michael Haynie, Andy Mientus, Corey Boardman, Jen Sese, Mackenzie Bell, and Anne Tolpegin; and MCC leadership Bernie Telsey, Will Cantler, and Blake West. Other guests included stage favorite Celia Keenan-Bolger and John Ellison Conlee.

The new recording is executive produced by Kurt Deutsch, and will be released on September 25 on the Ghostlight Records label. The album is produced by Gore and Joel Moss and features orchestrations by Doug Besterman, vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo, and musical direction and arrangements by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Stephen King, Carrie tells the story of a troubled teenage girl (Ranson) who seeks revenge after being bullied at school and tortured at home by her loving, religious fanatic mother (Mazzie).
