The American Theatre Wing honored the legendary Redgrave Family at its 2012 gala, held Monday, September 24 at the Plaza Hotel. The evening also paid tribute to Theodore S. Chapin, executive director of The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, for his service as Chair of the American Theatre Wing. The Wing is presided over by Executive Director Heather Hitchens and new Chair William Ivey Long.
Members of the extended Redgrave family in attendance included Vanessa Redgrave, Joely Richardson, Franco Nero, Kika Markham, and Carlo Gabriel Nero.
Performers and presenters included John Benjamin Hickey, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Laura Osnes, Ron Raines, Daryl Roth, and Jordan Roth.
Among the guests were Patrick R. Brown, Jessica Chastain, Judy Collins, Brian Dennehy, Joan Didion, Penny Fuller, Jonathan Freeman, Andile Gumbi, Nathan Johnson, Star Jones, Pia Lindstrom, Jo Loesser, Angelica Page, Patrick Page, Oliver Platt, Harold Prince, Chantel Riley, Morley Safer, and Alton Fitzgerald White.
