The American Theatre Wing (Theodore S. Chapin, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Heather Hitchens, Executive Director) held its annual gala at the Plaza Hotel on Monday, September 26. The event honored Sir Howard Stringer, the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Sony Corporation and longtime American Theatre Wing Board Member. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was on hand to proclaim the date "American Theatre Wing Day in Honor of Sir Howard Stringer" in the City of New York.

Celebrity performers and presenters included Brandon Victor Dixon, Colin Donnell, Marilu Henner, Jennifer Hudson, Angela Lansbury, Erin Mackey, James Naughton, Kelli O'Hara, Elaine Paige.

Among the guests at the event were Lucie Arnaz, Jim Dale, Kara DioGuardi, Samuel Jackson, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Judith Light, Laurence Luckinbill, and Greg Naughton.

The event raised more than $550,000, with all of the proceeds going towards The Wing's education and outreach programs.
