Original Cast Recording of Mitch Leigh’s Cry For Us All Released on CD in November

The original cast recording of the 1970 musical Cry for Us All will be released on CD by Kritzerland in November. The show features music by Mitch Leigh, lyrics by William Alfred and Phyllis Robinson, and book by William Alfred and Albert Marre.

Set in Brooklyn in 1890, the show is based on the play Hogan’s Goat and stars Joan Diener, Robert Weede, Steve Arlen, Helen Gallagher, and Tommy Rall. Cry For Us All opened at the Broadhurst Theater on April 8, 1970 and closed after only nine performances. It ultimately received two Tony Award nominations, one for Weede (Best Actor in a Musical) and one for scenic designer Howard Bay.
