María Nieves, Esteban Domenichi, Rocío de los Santos, and Oscar Martínez Pey will star in Tanguera The Tango Musical, which will play its first U.S. engagement at New York City Center, October 7-18. Omar Pacheco will direct the production, with choreography by Mora Godoy.

The show, which features a cast of more than 30 singers and dancers, tells a story of unrequited love in turn-of-the-20th-century Buenos Aires between a young French girl who becomes a cabaret a star and a local dockworker through a combination of song, music, and dance.

It has a book by Diego Romay and Dolores Espeja, and lyrics by Eladia Blazques. The show features musical direction and arrangements are by Gerardo Gardelin and tango arrangements are by Lisandro Adrover. The creative team will also include Valeria Ambrosio (set), Cecilia Monti (costumes), and Ariel Del Mastro (lighting).
