Danny Glover will star in a staged reading of Emmett, Down in My Heart, by Clare Coss, to be presented by the Culture Project at Judson Memorial Church, on October 6. Kenny Leon will direct.

The play is about the brutal 1955 murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till in Mississippi.

Glover played Willie in the 1982 Broadway production of Athol Fugard’s Master Harold… and the Boys, and Sam in the show’s 2003 Broadway revival. He will also star as Sam in a big-screen adaptation of the play. He is primarily known for his film and television work, including Places in the Heart, Boesman & Lena, Lethal Weapon, and Brothers & Sisters.
