The Broadway production of The Merchant of Venice — starring Tony Award and Academy Award winner Al Pacino as Shylock — has announced its opening date at the Broadhurst Theatre, which will be November 7, 2010.

As previously reported, Daniel Sullivan’s production — which began life as a Public Theater presentation this summer at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park — will play a limited engagement, October 19-January 9. The Public will co-produce the Broadway production with Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel.

Complete casting will be announced at a later date. The design team will include Mark Wendland (sets), Jess Goldstein (costumes), Kenneth Posner (lighting), Acme Sound Partners (sound), and Dan Moses Schreier (original music).
