63rd Annual Tony Awards, Claire Danes, Edie Falco, Jane Lynch, Al Pacino, Kyra Sedgwick, et al. Win Emmy Awards

The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held at 8pm on Sunday, August 29 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and aired live on NBC. The ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

The 63rd Annual Tony Awards won the award for Outstanding Writing for Variety, Music or Comedy Special; the show itself was given the Emmy last week for Special Class Program, as was its host, Neil Patrick Harris.

Mad Men was named Outstanding Drama Series; Modern Family was named Outstanding Comedy Series; Temple Grandin was named Outstanding Movie Made for Television; The Pacific was named Outstanding Mini-Series; Top Chef was named Outstanding Reality Competition Program; and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart was named Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series.

Acting winners were Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Claire Danes (Temple Grandin), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Jane Lynch (Glee), Julia Ormond (Temple Grandin), Al Pacino (You Don’t Know Jack), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer), David Strathairn (Temple Grandin), and Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family).

In addition, this year’s four winners for Guest Actor and Actresss in Comedy and Drama, Neil Patrick Harris (Glee), Betty White (Saturday Night Live), John Lithgow (Dexter), and Ann-Margret (Law & Order: SVU) appeared as presenters.

Other presenters included Will Arnett, Stephen Colbert, Claire Danes,Ted Danson, Emily Deschanel, Edie Falco, Tina Fey, Nathan Fillion, Laurence Fishburne, Ricky Gervais, Lauren Graham, Jon Hamm, Mariska Hargitay, January Jones, Boris Kodjoe, John Krasinski, LL Cool J, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Joel McHale, Christopher Meloni, Matthew Morrison, Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, Eva Longoria Parker, Jim Parsons, Matthew Perry, Jeff Probst, Keri Russell, Tom Selleck, Alexander Skarsgard, Maura Tierney, Blair Underwood, and Sofia Vergara.

In addition, Julianna Margulies presented the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award to her former ER co-star George Clooney.
