Effie Jean in Tahiti Set for Access Theater

David Johnston and Stephen Speights’ new musical Effie Jean in Tahiti will receive its world premiere at the Access Theater, September 3-20. Gary Schrader will direct this Blue Coyote Theater Group production.
This musical, which is intended for families, is a mixture of Euripides’ Iphigenia in Taurus and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and centers on a brother and sister who have to outwit Proteus, the Old Man of the Sea.
The cast will feature Bruce Barton, Laura Desmond, Brian Fuqua, Katie Hayes, Lynda Kennedy, Tom Staggs, Jane Titus, Matthew Trumbull, F. Dash Vata, and Travis York. The creative team will include choreographer Jonathan Hollander, scenic designer Robert Monaco, and costume designer Katie Garceau.
