Morgan Freeman Hospitalized After Car Accident

Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, who recently completed a run in the Broadway revival of The Country Girl, is in a hospital in Memphis after being injured in a car accident in Mississippi, according to a variety of published reports. The 71-year-old actor will reportedly undergo elbow surgery and has serious injuries to his neck and shoulders.

Freeman received a Tony Award nomination in 1978 for The Mighty Gents; his other Broadway credits include Purlie and The Gospel at Colonus. He won the Academy Award for his work in Million Dollar Baby and can currently be seen on the big screen in the latest Batman feature, The Dark Knight.
