SoHo Rep Cancels Uncle Vanya Performances to Repair Flood Damage

SoHo Rep has cancelled performances of its production of Annie Baker’s adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya through Sunday July 22, in order to repair flood damage caused by storms on Wednesday, July 18. The production, which is directed by Sam Gold, runs through August 26.

The cast features Reed Birney in the title role, along with Michael Shannon (Astrov), Merritt Wever (Sonia), Maria Dizzia (Yelena), Peter Friedman (Serebryakov), Georgia Engel (Marina), Rebecca Schull (Maria) and Matthew Maher, and Paul Thureen. Roberta Maxwell joins the cast as Maria on July 24.

The design team includes Andrew Lieberman (set design), Baker (costume design), Mark Barton (lighting design), and Matt Tierney (sound design).
