The Motherf**ker with the Hat Recoups on Broadway

The Broadway production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Motherf**ker with the Hat, now at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre until July 17, has has recouped its full capitalization. No specific amount was reported.

The play centers on a couple who have been in love since the eighth grade, but are dealing with issues of sobriety and fidelity.

The production is directed by Anna D. Shapiro. The company features Bobby Cannavale as Jackie, Chris Rock as Ralph D, Elizabeth Rodriguez as Veronica, Annabella Sciorra as Victoria,and Yul Vázquez as Cousin Julio.

The creative team includes scenic designer Todd Rosenthal, costume designer Mimi O’Donnell, lighting designer Donald Holder and sound designer Acme Sound Partners, as well as Terence Blanchard, who has written original music for the show.
