Dan Lauria to Star in William Mastrosimone’s A Stone Carver

Dan Lauria will star in the Off-Broadway production of William Mastrosimone’s A Stone Carver at the Soho Playhouse, July 18-September 3. The production, to be directed by Robert Kalfin, will open officially on July 27.

The show will also star Jim Iorio and Elizabeth Rossa. The creative includes Nathan Heverin (sets), Gail Cooper-Hecht (costumes), Josh Bradford (lighting), Austin Duggan (sound), and B.H. Barry (fight direction).

Set in the 1970s, the play concerns Augustino, an elderly stone carver who refuses to leave his home despite an order of eminent domain by the town, which wants to build a highway off-ramp. Mastrosimone’s other plays include Extremities, The Afghan Women, and The Woolgatherers. His film and television credits include Sinatra, The Burning Season, With Honors, and the TNT miniseries Into the West, which was nominated yesterday for 16 Emmy Awards.

Lauria’s Off-Broadway credits include The Guys, Other People’s Money, and Ears on a Beatle. He is best known for his role as Jack Arnold on the TV series The Wonder Years. His other film and TV credits include Stakeout, JAG, and Signs of the Cross. He previously played the role of Augustino at the Mill Hill Playhouse this past May.
