Cox, Dawes, Keenan-Bolger, Overbey, Williams, et al. Set for NYC Fringe Festival

Veanne Cox, Bill Dawes, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Kellie Overbey, and Chandler Williams are among the stars who will participate in the 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, August 11-27. This year’s festival will feature 216 shows, representing 11 countries. It will take place in 21 downtown venues including The Lucille Lortel Theater, the Flea Theater, and the Actors Playhouse.

Cox, a Tony Award nominee for Company, is scheduled to star in the What Exit Theatre Company’s world premiere of Suburban Stories, a docudrama based on interviews from real-life residents of an upper-class New Jersey suburb.

Dawes, whose credits including Sex and Longing and Gross Indecency, and Overbey, who has starred on Broadway in QED and Twentieth Century, will be featured in another suburban satire, Ross Maxwell’s Open House. The show will co-star Greg Keller and Cynthia Silver, and it will be directed by Josh Hecht, who helmed the Drama Desk Award-winning Christine Jorgensen Reveals.

Keenan-Bolger, who has appeared on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast and Seussical, will star in Grace Falls, a new musical by Daeil Cha about three young refugees who must escape a mythical tyrant. The show will co-star Nicole DiGaetano, Brian Kuchta, Chad Lindsey, and Amy Lizka, and feature a 13-piece orchestra.

Williams, who starred Off-Broadway in Rope and The Mysteries, will join Melissa Miller (Tartuffe) and Paul David Story (The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial) in the world premiere of Jen Silverman’s Lizardskin. The play concerns a brother and sister who invent private games that become real when a seductive stranger enters their lives.
