The Atlantic Theater Company celebrated the opening night of its world premiere production of John Patrick Shanley’s Storefront Church on Monday, June 11, with a post-performance party at Abe & Arthur’s Restaurant.
Bob Dishy, Giancarlo Esposito, Zach Grenier, Ron Cephas Jones, Jordan Lage, and Tonya Pinkins comprise the cast of the work, which concerns a Bronx borough President forced into a confrontation with a local minister in the height of the mortgage crisis.
Guests included Atlantic Theater heads Neil Pepe and Jeffory Lawson, Mary McCann, Lena Pepe, and Kathryn Erbe.
The play is the first production to return to Atlantic’s main stage Linda Gross Theater in Chelsea following completion of a $8.3 million renovation.
