Playwright EM Lewis was awarded the $10,000 Francesca Primus Prize last week by the American Theatre Critics Association for her play Heads, which was presented last year by the Blank Theatre in Los Angeles.

The award is given annually to an emerging woman theater artist; past winners include Julia Jordan, Brooke Berman, Lynn Nottage, and Karen Zacarias.
