Sherie Rene Scott, Tom Wopat, and Karen Mason are among the stars who will join Avenue Q creators Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx for Avenue Q Swings!, a benefit concert for Greenwich House Music School’s piano fund, to be held at 7:30pm on Monday, June 27 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Others scheduled to perform tunes from the Tony Award-winning musical in jazz, classical, and other surprising arrangements include Sally Mayes, Christine Pedi, Billy Porter, Marc Shaiman, and the award winning a cappella group Toxic Audio. The concert’s musical director is Mary Ann McSweeney, who plays bass for Avenue Q.

Lopez studied piano at Greenwich House for more than 15 years, and he and Marx composed many of the show’s songs there. During that time, the duo noticed the need to replace the school’s two 50-year-old Steinway pianos, which led to this special concert. Tickets for the event are priced at $150 and $250; the latter price includes a post-show reception with the cast. To order tickets, phone 212-279-4200 or click here.
