Spider-Man‘s Katrina Lenk Will Join the Cast of Once

Lenk will replace Claire Wellen in the role of Reza.

Beginning Tuesday, May 7, Katrina Lenk will join the cast of the Tony- and Grammy Award-winning musical Once. She will be taking over the role of Reza in place of Claire Wellen, who was playing the role temporarily.

Lenk most recently appeared on Broadway as Arachne in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, where she played her last performance on April 21. She was also a member of the 2010 Broadway cast of The Miracle Worker. Her additional New York theater credits include Last Dance at the York Theatre Company and Camille at the Bard SummerScape.

Based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film, Once follows a Dublin street musician about to give up on his dream when he encounters a beautiful young woman who takes an interest in his work. The musical features a book by award-winning Irish playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh (Penelope), Academy Award-winning music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, direction by the John Tiffany (Black Watch), movement by Steven Hoggett (American Idiot), and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!). The creative team also includes set and costume design by six-time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (Mary Poppins), lighting design by three-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz (Aida), and sound design by Clive Goodwin.

Lenk joins leading actors Arthur Darvill (Guy) and Joanna Christie (Girl) as well as a company featuring David Abeles, David Patrick Kelly, Jillian Lebling, Katrina Lenk, Eliza Holland Madore, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Andy Taylor, Carlos Valdes, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty, and J. Michael Zygo.
