Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, best known as the mastermind behind the rap musical In The Heights, is packing up his rhymes and bringing them downtown.

In an 8 Mile-meets-Whose Line Is It Anyway? extravaganza, Miranda and his electric hip-hop improv group, Freestyle Love Supreme, will perform two sets at Joe’s Pub on Wednesday, May 29 — at 7:30 and 9:30. Tony Award-nominated In the Heights director Thomas Kail will helm the show.

In addition to Miranda, the ensemble features Anthony Veneziale (The Electric Company), Chris “Shockwave” Sullivan (The Electric Company), Chris Jackson (In the Heights), and singer-songwriter Arthur Lewis. This group of freestyle artists will take cues from the audience to spin impromptu rhymes and fully formed musical numbers — no preparation allowed.

And if you’re planning to throw down a challenge to this group of seasoned professionals, be sure to watch this video…It’ll make you think twice.
